You only have one Mom in your life. Iva was very special not only to me but my children Amanda and Conor. They loved going to Aunt Iva's for their birthday
breakfast.
My memories of Iva will always bring a smile and a laugh. Little did she know how many hearts she
touched !!

words cannot describe the sorrow at the passing of Aunt Iva. We were so lucky to have her in our lives for so long. She will be deeply missed. I consider myself lucky to have been her niece, and know that if I can be half the woman she was, I will be a very blessed person. She was an absolute delight in every sense of the word, she lit up the room with her vibrance and upbeat attitude. She loved her family unconditionally, and I loved her totally. Rest in Peace Aunt Iva, you are with Uncle Tom and Grandpa, they will guide you.

Dear Bill,
I'm so sorry to learn of the loss of your Mom. She was a very caring loving woman and one of the wittiest persons I've ever met. It's been forty years since I've spent time in Bolton Landing, but I'll always cherish the many memories of the Country Diner, which was but an extension of your home. Your Mom and Dad welcomed everyone into their lives and are a treasured memory for me.

Iva was one of a kind. She was loved by all and in return loved everyone. Iva always brought me her famous "Potato Soup" which she
knew I loved. I will personally miss her beyound words. Iva also considered herself my sons "second Mom". She was always busy. Sitting down was not in her vocabulary. She truly loved her work. I will miss you Iva and know how much I loved her.

Iva was an icon to Bolton Landing. I will miss her dearly, as many as her summer customers. I have known her since I was born, and all she did was bring a smile to her face everytime she saw me. My prayers are with her family during this time of grief.

My dear Aunt Iva was a highlight of my life from the time I was a little boy. Breakfasts at the diner, playing with my cousins in her basement, trick or treating multiple times at her house in the same night, and skipping Church School in favor of the diner (which she would always keep an eye on the time so we would be back before church school finished)are some of the special things I remember. Her quick wit, devotion to her work, and family, and love of funny jokes and comedic jingles will always be the most important things she will be remembered for.
My Aunt Iva touched the lives of countless people throughout her life, making them smile and laugh, all the while serving them the foods that Uncle Tom and the diner were famed for. For over 50 years the Country Diner played a part in everyone's (especially her and her family's) life who knew her and would come to expect "the show", whether it be from week long visitors or those locals who gathered every morning for 6 o'clock coffee.
My Aunt Iva, a special woman, always loved, always counted on, and always included in our lives. May you go with God and be at rest. Until we meet again..."alakazoom, alakazam..."

She remembered Roger's favorite order after 15 years and remembered his dog sitting just outside the Diner door as he ate.
The day after Roger and I eloped, we snuck into the Diner for breakfast. On our table was a bouquet of flowers, just like those at our wedding. She had arranged it all for us.
One day there was no room at the counter and Skip strolled in with his own stool and sat down next to the counter. She looked at it, sniffed and said, "Not my station" and walked away to the delighted laughter of the whole room.
Will always miss you, Lady Good Iva.
