He was a communicant and usher of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church for many years and held positions on the Joint Landfill Commission, the Warren County Recycling Commission, and was a Republican Committee Member in district 2. Jim had a great love for lottery tickets. He would always talk about how he would split his winnings with his family and his friends. He was a great father. He enjoyed taking his children on numerous yearly vacations, making them both fun and educational. Jim was an avid football fan. He enjoyed attending Miami Dolphins games with his children. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his three sisters, Catherine Angle, Rita Thomson, and Doris Patterson. He is survived by his beloved children: James M. Coughlin and his wife, Beth of Queensbury; Theresa A. Coughlin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren: Alethea Marie, Frankie Jose James, and James Michael Perez; and Liam Steven Briggs; his brother, John Coughlin of Colonie; and his long time, loving companion, Gwen Perry of Queensbury; along with several nieces and nephews. Jim will be remembered in prayer at the 4:30 pm Mass, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, 3802 Main St., Warrensburg. Jim’s children will be gathering at the family home on Theresa James Street following the Mass and would like to extend an invitation to the many friends Jim had in the area. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Tower 5 at the Glens Falls Hospital for the outstanding care that Jim received during his brief illness.
