I, antonio remember sitting in the black Rock meeting room almost 30 years ago taking my hunter safety course. Seems like yesterday. When I was a kid,and there was no one else to do it, Vern took me to Black Rock and got me into hunters education. I got my first hunting license and he Put a gun in my hand and took me on my first hunt. I remember that day like it was yesterday, not because we were so successful rabbit hunting but because I also learned how to swear that trip due to an errant shot towards his dog!!! Rip Vern. Thank you for turning me on to a hobby I continue 30 years later. My thoughts are with Weezer, Delores and Scotty

I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. I went to school with him and we worked at Big V in Vails Gate. He was always friendly, polite and helpful. Vern was an all around good guy. I'm sorry I hadn't seen him in such a long time. RIP.

May Vern rest in the loving arms of our heavenly Father. We, as a family, have a sweet memory of having Vern stay at our home. Some of the things I remember about my brother- in- law Vern are that he loved his family very much, he served his country well in the military, he enjoyed living and hunting in the mountains, he enjoyed driving his truck, and eating a good meal of different wildlife meats from hunting. We will all miss Vern. May Vern be resting in God’s everlasting love and peace.

Having shared dialysis with Vern for many years, I became very fond of Vern. He was a very kind and intelligent man. I liked to converse with him on a variety of topics. He will be very missed by many. May he RIP.
