Obituary of Jonnette R. Ermiger

Warrensburg: Jonnette Ermiger, 73, of Smith Street, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, January 26, 2017, at her home. Born September 30, 1943, in Salina, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy Margaret (Rokey) Zug. Jonnette was a graduate of Greenville High School in Texas. She furthered her education at East Texas State University, where she obtained her Bachelor Degree in Business and Psychology and later received her Master’s Degree in Education. Jonnette relocated to New York, where she was a buyer for D.J. Fashions in Baldwinsville. In 1981 she became an English teacher in Corsicana, TX at Drane Middle School, where she was employed for many years before retiring. After retirement, she returned to New York. She enjoyed making jewelry, antiques, painting and volunteering at the Warrensburg Historical Society. Jonnette is survived by her daughter, Ashley Sherman; two grandchildren, Tessa and Jacob Sherman, all of Lake George; a sister, Dixie Parris and her husband, Tom; and a nephew, Jason Parris, all of Dallas, TX. Friends may call on Jonnette’s family from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation, at 6 pm, at the funeral home, followed by a gathering at 480 East Schroon River Rd., Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Jonnette’s memory to the Warrensburg Historical Society.
