Francis H. “Frank” Boos, Jr., 75, of Byrnes Road, passed away, Friday, August 6, 2010 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA following a short illness.
Born September 26, 1934 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Francis and Ethel (Connell) Boos.
Raised the son of an Army Colonel, Frank lived at numerous locations throughout the U.S. He also resided in Iran and Panama during his father’s long military career.
He received his engineering degree from Notre Dame University and went on to earn his law degree from Fordham Law School.
His life’s profession was as a Patent Attorney with General Electric in Louisville, KY and Kodak in Rochester.
Following his retirement, he and his beloved wife, Betty settled in North Creek and became very active in community affairs.
Frank was a communicant, Lector and Eucharistic Minister with St. James RC Church; past board member and housing coordinator with North Country Ministries; board member of the Adirondack Tri-County Health and Rehabilitation Facility; Tannery Pond Community Center board member; member and past president of the North Creek Rotary Club; and On-site manager of the White Water Manor.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty (West) Boos of North Creek; his children, Kathleen Quinn and her husband, Jim Blanton of Louisville, KY, Brian Boos of North Creek, Margaret Erickson and her husband, Thomas of Longmont, CO, Andrew Boos and his wife, Kelli of Louisville, KY, Emily Durham and her husband, Joel Jr. of Rochester, Vu Nguyen and his wife, Kim of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Megan and Mollie Quinn, Jared and Amber Boos, Andrew and Jeanne Durham and Fiona Nguyen; his brothers, Michael Boos and his wife, Joan of Augusta, GA, William Boos and his wife, Florence of British Columbia, Canada and Iowa; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Frank’s family from 10 am – 12 pm Friday at St. James RC Church, Main St., North Creek.
A Mass to celebrate his life will be conducted 12 pm Friday following the visitation at the church with Fr. Joseph Anselment, presiding and Brother James Posluszny of North Country Ministries, Homilist.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to North Country Ministries, 32 Circle Ave., North Creek, NY 12853.
