Born April 6, 1934 in Cliff Side Park, NJ, he was the son of the late Paul and Charlotte McAllister.
He married Mary E. Appel on August 25, 1956, while serving a 4-year hitch in the U.S. Navy. In 1967, he and his wife started a record store called THE CAMP, selling items such as records, concert posters, T-shirts, and much more. In 1985 they sold the retail part of the business, while moving the wholesale aspect, family in tow to Johnsburg. The couple was able to sell the remaining business and retire in 1998.
In 2007, the couple relocated again, building a home in Thurman.
