Obituary of Rebecca J. Greenwood

Stony Creek: Rebecca J. “Becky” Greenwood, 63, of Harrisburg Rd., passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Vibra Medical Center in Springfield, MA, following a courageous battle with a long illness. Born December 29, 1950 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of George W. Sprague, Jr., of Warrensburg, and the late Elaine D. (Ackley) Sprague. Becky attended Warrensburg Central School, and was employed by The Great Escape, where she made many wonderful friends. She married Mack P. Greenwood on October 30, 1971. Besides her mother, and beloved husband, Becky is predeceased by a brother, George W. Sprague, III, her grandparents, George and Aileen Sprague, Frank and Daisy Weeks, and Lee Ackley. Other than her father, she is survived by her two sons, who were her life, David P. Greenwood of Stony Creek, and Phillip S. Greenwood, and his longtime friend, Anglique Dalaba, of Bolton Landing; her siblings, Jerry Sprague and his wife, Maureen, Kevin Sprague, Mike Sprague, and Lori Combs and her husband, Scott, all of Warrensburg; nieces and nephews, Terry Combs and his wife, Laura, Courtney Sprague and her companion, Jeremy Coon, Kristin Sprague and her companion, Jason Lamb, Brandon Combs, and Mandy Starks; a sister-in-law, Janet McKinney; and brother-in-law, Ken Brown. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, special cousins, including Joann Dick, her adopted niece, Doni Lynn Smith, and special friends and extended family members. Friends may call on Becky’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation, at 7 pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
