Obituary of Dorothy R. Bradley

Bolton Landing/ Warrensburg: Dorothy R. “Skip” Bradley, 72, formerly of Bolton Landing and Warrensburg, passed away, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born June 22, 1938 in Bolton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Edna (French) DeGrush. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from the Bolton High School in 1955. She married Frederick Monroe and the couple began raising their family. In addition to spending time with her family, she also enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas. Besides her parents, Dorothy is also predeceased by her first husband, Frederick, who passed away in 1967 and her second husband, William Bradley passed away in 2003 after 35 years of marriage. Her brother, James DeGrush and grandchildren, Alison Hayes and Mark Monroe Jr. have all predeceased her. She leaves behind her children, Frederick Monroe Jr. and his wife, Beth of Queensbury, Melody Gibson and her husband, Michael of Chestertown, Mark Monroe and his wife, Patricia of Mechanicville, Laureen Horton of Schenectady, Nancy Weidman and her husband, Alton of Pottersville, James Monroe and his wife, Kimberly of Phoenix, AZ, Billie-Jo Pabst and her husband, Robert of Pawcatuck, CT, Bobbie-Jo Umber and her husband, John of Pottersville; 22 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Dorothy’s family from 12-2 pm Friday, October 8th at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 pm Friday following the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Radford, of the Horicon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will take place in the Bolton Rural Cemetery at the conclusion of the funeral services.
