Obituary of Goldie E. Dimick

Warrensburg: Goldie E. Dimick, 82, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 04, 2010 at the Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury. Born July 19, 1928 in Schroon Lake, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Irene (Benson) Allen. Goldie married Arthur E. Dimick on October 20, 1946 and the couple spent 50 wonderful years together until Arthur’s passing on August 31, 1997. She began her working years with the Grand Union Stores in Fort Edward and Warrensburg. Goldie’s spent the majority of her career as a waitress with the former Coachman Restaurant in Lake George for many years. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family and camping. Besides her parents and her beloved husband, she is also predeceased by her brother, Wallace Allen and her sister, Edith (Maynard) Ferro. She is survived by her son, Howard Dimick and his wife, Diann of Warrensburg; four grandchildren: Matthew E. Vanderwarker and his wife, Deanna of Carrollton, VA, Shellie A. McWhorter and her husband, Michael of Argyle, Christopher A. Dimick of Warrensburg, and Sarah B. Durkee and her husband, Joseph of Queensbury; 5 great-grandchildren, Cayden, McKenna, Bryce, Noah, Ethan; her sisters, Marilyn Seeley and her husband, Miles of Schroon Lake, Bertha Beers of Schroon Lake, Evelyn Bailey of Ticonderoga, Jean Goltz of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. At Goldie’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled. Private graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family in Warrensburg Cemetery.
