Obituary of Ardell A. Perkins

North Creek: Ardell A. Perkins, passed away peacefully May 14, 2010 at St. Peter’s Hospice, Albany surrounded by her loving children and family. She was born August 2, 1930 in West Glover, Vermont to Fern and Ellen (Comer) Anderson. Ardell was predeceased by her husband Floyd W. Perkins whom she married on February 1, 1951. Ardell was a substitute teacher for Minerva Central School for 25 years and also worked at Gore Mountain Ski Center in the ticket sales office for 23 years. Spending time with her family was one of her greatest joys of her life. Ardell loved to travel, especially going to the ocean. Her most recent trip was to the Riviera Maya. Ardell enjoyed her bowling group of special friends. Ardell also spent many hours creating masterpieces with her talented crocheting and knitting for Bridging People and Places. She was a communicant of St. James Church North Creek. Ardell is the beloved mother of six children who loved her dearly. Anna M. Goodman (Philip) of Johnsburg, Donna L. Gross (Robert) of South Carolina, Terry F. Perkins (Cynthia) of Chestertown, Kathleen E. TenEyck (Richard) of Olmstedville, Keith D. Perkins (Valerie) of North Creek, and Tamera L. Sponable (Brian) of North Creek. Ardell is survived by her many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her so much. Ardell is survived by her brothers and sisters. Helena Blair, Billy W. Anderson, Kenneth F. Anderson, John A. Anderson, and Lenore Anderson. Ardell was predeceased by her brothers Irvin F. Anderson and Dean F. Anderson On behalf of the Perkin’s Family we wish to thank a dear family friend, Dr. Calla Bassett for her compassion and help with our Mother’s care. Mom was especially blessed to have the friendship and expertise of Dr. DeSantis, Dr. Gold, and Dr. Johnson at St.Peter’s Hospital whom she trusted dearly. Memory donations may be made to St. James Church for perpetual care of St. James Cemetery. Friends may call on Ardell’s family from 5-9 pm Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral mass to celebrate Ardell’s life will the conducted at 10:00 am Tuesday at St. James Catholic Church, North Creek with the Rev. John O’Kane officiating. Rite of commital will follow the Mass in St. James Cemetery, North Creek. Pallbearers will be her six children. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guestbook, condolences and directions.
