To the family of Andy Knoll: I am saddened to hear of Andy's passing. I learned yesterday of Andy's passing from the PSC Sequel. The memories came flooding back from 30 years ago. I lived 2 cabins over from Andy & Rich at Moody's Cabins. Andy was a ton of fun, a truly great person to be around. I remember setting up a homemade meat smoker over the fire pit, smoking venison & fish, listening to music from somebody's cabin window and quite possibly a few barley pops. I understand we still shared that common love in our life with having a 4 legged fur family in it. I remember Andy brought Buck to his cabin as a puppy for the first time. I asked, where you did get this little guy, he said a guy at Saratoga Dorm has some puppies, sure enough later that day I came back to the cabins with Buck's sister, Bear. Bear was my road trip partner for 13 years and always wondered about how Andy & Buck were. I regret that my life took me in a direction that my path never crossed with Andy's again. Andy was a gentle kind soul, great sense of humor & respectful. To Melissa, Dakota, Nick & family, find comfort & strength knowing that Andy's love will live forever in your hearts, cherish the memories. I am honored to have known Andy. Rest in Peace my ole friend, give Buck & Bear a belly rub for me.

I learned about Andy's passing yesterday. I met Andy K-noll, as I called him, in Dorm 7 at PSC and I will always remember him for how friendly and kind he was to others. I can never forget his daily greeting of "Morning Richard" as he always used my proper name. We shared off campus housing at Moody's cabins. Being college students on a budget, he made his mothers pasta sauce more than a time or two for dinner and once we thought we'd hit the mother load when we found 8-packs of turkey dogs at the Grand Union in Saranac Lake for 29 cents and, being completely unaware of exactly how sick one could get of turkey dogs, we must have bought 30 or so packs. Salty, his paralet(?), if I remember correctly, spent the semester with us there. He was in the habit of drinking soda first thing in the morning saying it would "wake up his mouth", I cannot recall if it was coke or pepsi but his choice of brand doesn't change the impact he had on me and the others around him. I honestly cannot remember anyone ever saying a negative word about Andy. I regret that I lost touch with him but, too often, that's how these things go. Whenever I think about PSC I always think about Andy and that will not change but for the sorrow I feel for the loss to this world.

I am so sorry to hear about Andy's passing. He has been a good friend and neighbor to my family since we first moved to Thurman back in the late 1980s. While I, myself, haven't had the opportunity to see Andy in many years, my parents, George and Wendy Searing, have let me know just how much Andy has meant to them over the years. Know that Andy is now enjoying a most wonderful reunion with other family and friends who passed from this mortal existence before him. He lived a life of service, and will be blessed accordingly by his Father in Heaven. You all have my deepest condolences at this difficult time, and may you be blessed with comfort and peace. Sincerely, Paul A Searing

Andy was a student of mine at Paul smith's his first semester there, and I still remember him well. He was a wonderful guy--always kind, pleasant and upbeat, a joy to be around. I can still see him, his black curls down to his shoulders, big smile on his face, with always something nice to say. Everyone loved Andy--ihe made it easy to do.

The words are hard to find to describe how I feel. He was a dear friend and always had an ear to listen. We shared many long conversations, mulled decisions, and drooled on cars. There is a hole in my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss Dakota, Melissa and family. The only thing that relieves our pain is to know that he is running with the pack in heaven. Free of the pain and forever looking over us! I love you all!

Andy was a great man. I first met him a little over three years ago when I started dating his amazing daughter Dakota. Andy, with open arms, welcomed me into the family. His sense of humor was one like no other and a trait that me and him bonded over. Andy was such a caring person. He went out of his way whenever possible to make sure everyone around him was having a great time, both two legged and four legged friends. I loved going up to his house and spending time with him and the people I have come to see as family. So many great memories were made between all of us. I know you will look after your family and still cherish the moments we share. You were truly an amazing person and will be missed dearly. Enjoy Puppy Galore Andy!
