Warrensburg: Marjorie R. Peters, 95, of Library Avenue, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 5, 2017, at her home. Born May 10, 1921 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Gustave and Julia (Johnson) Schrader. Marjorie was a graduate of Warrensburg Central School, Class of 1934. She later attended Albany Business School. Marjorie married William Edward Peters on September 2, 1941 in Cambridge. The couple lived in Tonawanda and Burlington, VT, while both employed by Bell Aircraft, before relocating back to Warrensburg. There, Bill built their home on Library Avenue. She worked at A. C. Emerson and Niagara Mohawk companies in Warrensburg before retiring in 1984 from Warren County Offices of Natural Disasters and Civil Defense after 33 years of service. In her earlier years, Marjorie knitted and designed sweaters for family members and traveled, spending several winters in Florida. She enjoyed collecting information and making booklets on interesting topics, but above all else, she loved to socialize and held many gatherings of various sizes. She will be remembered for the many well penned letters and cards to almost everyone, even if she didn’t know them, as well as her positive outlook and attitude. In addition to her parents and beloved husband of 58 years, who passed away in 1999, Marjorie is predeceased by her brother, Robert Schrader and nephew, Vernon Schrader. She is survived by her children, David Peters and his wife, Joan, of South Glens Falls, Robert Peters of Warrensburg and his fiancée, Joyce Smith, of Watervliet; granddaughters, Deanne Peters, Deidre Peters and her fiancé, Scott Washburn, and their mother, Deborah Peters of Warrensburg; as well as her many special friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Marjorie’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 am, Thursday, at the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg, 3890 Main St., Warrensburg with Rev. Stephen Andrews, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
