Obituary of Curtis G. Prosser

Warrensburg: Curtis G. Prosser, 84, a lifelong resident of Warrensburg and affectionately known as “Pickle” passed away Sunday morning, November 12, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born August 29, 1922 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Leslie and Bertha Prosser. Curtis was a WW II US Army veteran and was very proud to have served his country. He loved to hunt, fish and to go camping. Curtis worked as a logger for many years and at Richard Baker & Sons Lumber Mill in Warrensburg for 18 years. Besides his parents, his wife of 45 years, Ruth, passed away on September 10, 1987; his son’s, Arthur and Christopher; three grandchildren, LeRoy II, James Curtis and Kyetta; his three brothers, Orland, Winston and John have all predeceased him. Survivors include seven sons, Gerald Prosser, Donald Prosser and Larry Prosser all of Warrensburg; LeRoy and Darryl Prosser of Queensbury; Richard Prosser of Greenfield Center and Casey Prosser of Pottersville; three daughters, Linda Anselmo of Stony Creek; Gail Barrett of Hudson Falls and Gloria Henderson of Warrensburg; one brother, Leslie Prosser Jr. of Warrensburg; one sister, Ruth Wood of Athol; 43 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Tuesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Parisi, Pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Warrensburg officiating. Friends may call on Curtis’s family one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery. The family extends a special thank you to the nursing staff on Tower Three at the Glens Falls Hospital for all their kindness and compassion during his stay.
