Eric R. Cook, 69, formerly of Long Island, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his daughter’s home in Warrensburg, following a long illness.
Born July 25, 1947 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Walter A. and Emelia D. (Meineke) Cook.
Eric was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He owned and operated The Undertaker, a car scrapping business, on Long Island. His greatest joys were restoring cars and scrapping metal.
In addition to his parents, Eric is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Rathjens) Cook.
He is survived by two daughters, Doriene Belden and her husband, TJ, of Warrensburg, and Stephanie Robinson, of Orlando, FL; and seven grandchildren, Kaylia, Maydia, and Livia Sorgie, and Thane, Cierra, Brock, and Haylin Robinson. He also leaves behind several extended family members and friends.
At Eric’s request no calling hours will be scheduled.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place at 5:30 pm, Friday, May 19, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg with Rev. Nancy Barrow, officiating.
