I met Doug in the UNH outing club, where he was an upperclassmen mentor to my freshman self. I'll never forget the NHOC multi-day winter hiking trip in the Great Gulf Wilderness that Doug was lead on. I'm sad to hear of his death. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace, Doug.

When one losses a loved one in death it is natural to ask, "Will they live again"? The Bible answers this by informing us that God is going to remove of death that mankind has experienced for thousands of years --Revelation 20:12-13. The scriptures also assures, us that God is eager to resurrect your loved one who is now sleeping in the grave. Notice another scripture, 1 Corinthians 15:26 shows that God views death as an enemy. Talk to God in prayer during this grievous time: (Psalms 55:22). May this be of comfort to you, at this time of your loss!

Doug was a long time member of LASAR and in his 25 years of service met and taught many members. One of my first encounters with him was his swift water rescue lesson. I was scared to death but learned a great deal. I hope you hear of our whiterwater ride down the Hudson and having to stop to fight a forest fire with paddles. The LASAR members involved still talk about it and chuckle. Doug left us many fond memories and great lessons learned. He will be missed. Gretchen Stark
