Obituary of Stanley F. Randall

Warrensburg: Stanley F. Randall, 77, of Oak Street, passed away, Monday, June 7, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born January 5, 1933 in Warrensburg, he was the son of the late Roy and Cynthia (Stafford) Randall. Stan was a lifelong resident of the area. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force. He was a Glens Falls Police Officer in the late 1950’s before working as a mechanic with Whiteman Chevrolet and Eichler’s Ford Dealerships. He went on to take over his father’s business, Randall’s Chainsaw Shop in Warrensburg. Stan was very talented in leather and wood working and in the past, built vintage warbird aircraft models that he donated to local youths. He married Margaret Hutchins on February 17, 1979. The couple enjoyed their time together fishing and collecting firearms. Besides his parents, his brother, Stafford Randall was killed in action during WW II. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Margaret Randall of Warrensburg; two daughters and a son, including Sharon Nolan and her husband, Dennis of Fort Edward; three granddaughters, Carrie, Missy and Megan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service to celebrate Stan’s life will be conducted 11 am Thursday at the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jackie Mueller, Pastor of the R.W. Johnsburg United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to the Disabled American Veterans or to the Warrensburg EMS.
