Obituary of Nancy Ann Najer

Chestertown: Nancy A. Najer, of Theriot Ave., passed away, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a prolonged illness. Born in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Gladys Najer. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated as Valedictorian from North Warren Central School. She furthered her education receiving her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Sociology from Syracuse University. She began her working years as a social worker in Meriden, CT. In 1987, Nancy returned to Chestertown and joined the family business, Najer Realty. Nancy was a well respected real estate broker for many years. Her favorite pastimes included horseback riding, skiing and traveling. Besides her parents, her son, Frank Brito and her brother, Kurt Rohde have both predeceased her. Survivors include her husband, Trevor Anthony LaBarge of Chestertown; her son, Todd Allen Murphy of Hollywood, FL; her brother, Lee M. Rohde and his wife, Mary of Chappaqua; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will take place Saturday, March 24, 2007 at a time to be announced at the Chestertown Hall, Main St., Chestertown. There are no calling hours scheduled. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Helpers Fund, 258 Darrowsville Road, PO Box 691, Chestertown, NY 12817.
