Obituary of Catherine W. Fagan

North River: Catherine W. Fagan, 91, formerly of Barton Mines Road, passed away, Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the Adirondack Tri-County Health Care Center in North Creek following a long illness. Born December 10, 1914 in Pittsford, VT, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ella (Wimitt) Paine. Catherine married Clarence Walker. Mr. Walker passed away in 1948. In 1951, she married James Fagan, a logger with Finch Pruyn and the couple owned and operated their dairy farm in Schoharie until 1990. Mr. Fagan passed away later that year. Her favorite pastimes included tending to her flowers and her beloved cats. Besides her parents and her husbands, her son, David Walker died in 1947; six sisters and one brother; and grandson, Bobby Walker Jr. died in 1999. Survivors include her children, John Walker and his wife, Joan of Minerva, Caroline D’Avignon and her husband, Jerry of Indian Lake, Bob Walker and his companion, Muriel Newhouse of North Creek; several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 12 pm Saturday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River with Fr. Sony Pulickal, Pastor of St. Mary’s RC Church in Indian Lake officiating. Friends may call on Catherine’s family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Indian Lake.
