Athol: Phyllis Shuler (Morehouse), age 70 of Athol, passed away on September 23, 2018 following a long illness. Phyllis was born in Johnsburg, NY on April 1, 1948 to Floria Gardner and Ray Morehouse. Phyllis graduated from Warrensburg Central School in 1966 and went on to marry Charles Shuler on New Year's Eve, 1969. Phyllis was a loving mother to her son, Ray Shuler, and her daughters Beth Bokan and husband Rick and Becky Shuler and her fiancé Jeremy Bradway. Phyllis thought the world of her grandchildren Evan and Emma Parizo and great-granddaughter Amelia Guillette. Sadly she will not get to meet her newest granddaughter, due in January, but she will always be her guardian angel. She had many hobbies including crocheting, knitting, scrapbooking and researching her family tree. She loved to connect with friends and family on Facebook and leaves behind many dear friends who will miss her terribly. Phyllis is also survived by her sisters Jane Alison, Kathy LaPell and husband David, Ann Monger and husband Sigh, and sister-in-law Rosie Morehouse. In addition, she is survived by her brothers Tony and Mike Morehouse and Bill Duggan, and brother-in-law Tom Bolton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents, sisters Velda Armstrong, June Bolton, Mary Brassart and Brenda Morgan. She was also predeceased by her brothers Max, Karl, Preston, Vernon and Frank Morehouse, brother-in-law Joe Alison and in-laws, Thomas and Mary Shuler. She was a warm, caring person with a heart of gold. She will live on in our hearts forever. Friends may call on Phyllis’s family from 1 to 2 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the C.R.
