Obituary of Shirley J. Luse

Conway, SC/Warrensburg: Shirley J. Luse, 80, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born February 23, 1936 in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Lina (Barber) Montena. Following her graduation from Warrensburg High School in 1953, she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Spiedel for many years. She later began working for NYS DEC and eventually worked for the Warren County clerk’s office. Besides spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed reading and crocheting, leaving behind many afghan’s for her friends and family to cherish for years to come. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by a husband, Frank Koch, her brother, Harold Montena and a step-daughter, Karen. She is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, George Luse of Conway, SC; children, John Webster and his wife, Donna of Warrensburg; Jeff Webster and his wife, Karen of Wilton; Tracy Webster and his wife, Patricia of Brooksville, FL; her sister, Helen Nicolas of Chestertown; brother, Gene Montena and his wife, Norma of Chestertown; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special daughter-in-law, Barbara. At Shirley’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. A memorial service will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family.
