Obituary of Margaret M. Glode

North Creek: Margaret M. Glode, 82, formerly of Whitewater Manor, passed away peacefully, Monday, January 12, 2015, at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born August 31, 1932 in Red Bank, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Pauline (Brown) Glode. She relocated to the Johnsburg area at the age of 14, and graduated from North Creek High School in 1950. Margaret was employed by several area banks throughout the years, including North Creek National, First Trust of Albany, Bankers Trust, First American, Key Bank, and Home & City Savings, all before retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years, where she sang in the choir and served as Treasurer of the Altar/Rosary Society. Margaret was also a member of the American Legion Post 629 Auxiliary. Margaret was also a volunteer at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and crafts. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers, Roger and Donald Glode as well as a special aunt, Geraldine Brown. She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Maureen Glode, of Gloversville, and Laurel Glode of Wevertown; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Margaret’s family from 12 to 2 pm, Friday, January 16, 2015 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Main St., North Creek. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the visitation, at 2 pm at the church, with Fr. John O’Kane, presiding. Rite of Committal will take place in the spring, in St. James Cemetery, North Creek. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Margaret’s memory to St. James Roman Catholic Church, Main St., North Creek, NY 12853 or the Johnsburg Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 413, Johnsburg, NY 12853. Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the outstanding care that she received during her final years.
