Obituary of Leona N. Kramar

Warrensburg: Leona N. “Lee” Kramar, 72, of River St., passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born September 23, 1939 in Schuylerville, she was the daughter of the late Albert Thompson and Ernestine (Everts-Thompson) Chase. She married Frederick “Carl” Kramar in July 1, 1956, and the couple spent 55 years wonderful years together. She owned and operated Lee’s River St. Ceramics and also taught the art of ceramics in her home for 32 years, retiring 15 years ago. Lee enjoyed attending the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church. Her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, camping, crafts. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her infant grandson, Robert J. “R.J.” Kramar Jr. Survivors include her beloved husband, Carl of Warrensburg: her children, Karl F. Kramar and his companion, Melissa of Kentucky; Eleanor I. Kimball and her husband, Kenneth of Warrensburg; James D. Kramar of Queensbury; Robert J. Kramar and his wife, Dianne of Warrensburg; Michael T. Kramar and his wife, Annette of Warrensburg; her sisters, Teresa M. Zimmerman and her husband, Ron of Holiday, FL, Irene O’Neil of Wilton, Mary Ann Fuller of Fort Edward, Shirley Kieley and her husband, Russ of DeRidder, LA, Ila Bender of NC, two brothers, Ronald Chase and his wife, Catherine of Honaker, VA and James Thompson and his companion, Christine of Clermont, FL; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Lee’ family from 4-6 pm Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 6 pm Thursday at the funeral home with Nancy Barrow, Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church officiating. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to C.R. Wood Cancer Center, 102 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801in Lee’s memory.
