Obituary of John E. Brassart

Warrensburg:
John E. Brassart, 63, of Prospect Street, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Stratton VA Hospital in Albany, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born August 29, 1950 in North Charleroi, PA, he was the son of the late Jean B. Brassart and Genella (Wright) Frulla.
John enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country during the Vietnam War; completing two tours of duty.
Following his honorable discharge, he worked alongside his step-father, “Joe” Frulla at L.E. Frulla Lumber Co.
John was a dedicated employee at Hometown Oil for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and spending time with his close circle of friends. John will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his strong work ethic, and his free spirited independence.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Brassart of Lake Luzerne; a daughter, Jennifer O’Quain and her husband, Nathaniel of Ringling, OK; three granddaughters; two sisters, Sarah “Sally” Melanson of Jay, ME, and Adeline “Addie” Taylor of Fayette, ME. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At John’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled.
A celebration of his life will take place privately, at the convenience of his family.
