Queensbury:
Christopher N. Hitchcock, 34, of Luzerne Place, passed away, Sunday, September 30, 2007 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born March 28, 1973 in Glens Falls, he was the beloved son of Stella Allen of Chestertown and Neil Hitchcock Jr. of Bakers Mills.
Chris was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Johnsburg Central School and BOCES with a diploma in Conservation.
He worked very hard at his own logging business, Chris Hitchcock Logging. He enjoyed the rodeo, motorcycling and in general–just getting into mischief.
Always living life to the fullest, Chris had no lower gears, always full throttle. Accomplishing more on his to do list in his short 34 years, than most who live a long life. He never let fear hold him back from going forward, whether on a bronco, 4-wheeler, motorcycle, skidder, skies or snowboard. He lived hard and loved just as hard. He never settled for a job that he didn’t enjoy. He did what he loved and loved what he did.
He will be dearly missed.
Chris is predeceased by his sister, Cora Beth, and his paternal grandparents, Neil and Miriam Hitchcock.
Besides his parents, he leaves behind a son, Colten and a daughter, Maddison; his brothers, Jeremy and his friend, Katy Smith of Olmstedville, Stephen and his wife, Stephanie and children, Hunter, Xavier and Ashlee of Corinth; cousin/brother, Mike Kirby and his wife, Janet and children, Kade and Kylie of Johnsburg; his fiancé, Kathleen Ryan and her children, especially her son, Sean, whom he adored of Queensbury; his maternal grandparents, George and Harriet Allen of Bakers Mills; many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much.
Friends may call on Chris’s family from 1-4 and 6-9 pm Wednesday at the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Thursday at the church with Pastor Ron Weller officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garnet Lake Wesleyan Cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of donations to the Frank Hopkins Foundation for Wild Mustangs (www.frankhopkins.com), Johnsburg EMS, North Creek, N Y 12853, or to the Bakers Mills Wesleyan Church, Bakers Mills, NY 12811.
