I had the honor of meeting John Baker through Frank T. and while knowing him only a little, he always seems like a gentle giant with feet planted on the ground and heart filled with family. My condolences to Heidi and all his near and extended family members and friends. John Baker remains a very fond memory of my time is a living in Warrensburg. Marty Strodel

Our thoughts and prayers are with Heidi and all the Family. We are so grateful to have known John, he was such a great man. I remember when he stopped to help plow the driveway one winter when we got blasted with a bad storm. He would stop and plow us out,especially when Rickie was wasn't home to do it. He always had a smile and dog treats! John was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Q: What will you miss most about John?
A: I will always miss John sense of humor. I think that’s what I remember. Most about him. Happy go lucky down to earth kind of guy always had a smile or joke cause that’s who he was.
Heidi He was definitely the love of your life and as the years went on, many admired you for all the love you shared with one another that is like an eternal love
Shane, you had a great Dad ~Nobody needs to tell you that because I know that you knew that from day one he was a treasure who will always be in your heart. Dad never goes away.

Q: How did you meet John?
A: I met John for the first time when I visited my best friend Heidi who had married John. He was such a character and he loved teasing me because I made the big mistake of telling him I believed and also saw and video taped a UFO. From thence I think John thought I was an alien from another planet and whenever I would stay and visit Heidi and John he would always wonder and ask why I was looking up in the night sky with a giant smirk and laughing while asking me. "Are you trying to talk to your friends up there?" or "Are they coming to take you for a ride around the planet this evening?" "What time they picking you up?" John was a fantastic smart ass and that's what made me love my best friend's husband.
John was such a generous man also with his time and his money. If a person needed anything and John found out then he made sure he got it for you or did it for you and he loved to conspicuously hide it so you didn't know he was the one who got it for you and he would act like you were losing your mind and refused to tell you he got it or did it for you.
I believe God broke the mold when He made John. John in my mind is in heaven now without a doubt. They don't come any better than him. He gave his time and all of himself to his family, friends and even strangers. That's how all of us need to live and he gained his medal of honor and didn't have a selfish bone in his body. If John isn't in heaven then we all are in trouble.
John is one of the best men I have ever met in life. They just don't exist that much anymore other than Shane (John's son). He is following in his dad's footsteps. Shane is a rare, selfless, hard working, loving family man apple that fell off the John Baker tree. And then the best woman in the world took the Baker name and she became the Baker Queen. She is the love of John's life and she is without a doubt the female version of John. They had the marriage that is made by true love for each other. True giving of each other and to others. They truly are best friends. Heidi and John got along so perfectly. I never once saw them fight or argue. Not one single fight ever. They are a marriage made from heaven.
My heart is so broken that John had to leave us all especially his family. May he rest in peace eternally in the heart of Jesus and I welcome the joyous reunion with John we will all have some day when it is our time to go home to heaven. I look forward to seeing John's great big trouble stirring smile again.
