Obituary of Marylou M. Hughes

Stony Creek:

Marylou M. Hughes, 74, of Warrensburg Rd., passed away peacefully, Monday, September 2, 2024 at her home following a long illness.

Born December 1, 1949 in Mount Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Louise (Fargola) Smith.

Marylou worked for many years as a Teachers Assistant at Trappagen Elementary School in Mount Vernon.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Ernest Hughes, Sr.

She is survived by a son, Ernest Hughes, Jr., and his wife, Cecelia of Stony Creek; a daughter, Jennifer Ann Hughes of Mount Kisco; grandchildren, Starr and Megan Hughes of Stony Creek and great-grandchildren, Oscar and Jaime Strong.

Friends may call on Marylou's family from noon to 1 pm, Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 1 pm, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Hudson St., Warrensburg.
