NORTH CREEK: With heavy Hearts we announce the passing of USMC Master Sargent Retired Douglas Joseph Pierson Sr. on February 08, 2024.  He is and will be missed by family, friends, and those he so generously helped along his life’s Journey.  He loved being a career Marine, a United States Citizen and patriot defender of our Flag.  Master Sargent Pierson served three [3] Terms of service in Vietnam War, earning medals for his service.

Doug was born at home in North Creek, NY on August 26, 1943.  MSgt. Pierson joined the US Marine Corp. on August 29, 1960 and retired on October 31, 1981.

He was the third child of the late Thomas M. Pierson and Celina E. Waterson Pierson who predeceased him.  Doug’s oldest sister, Joan Pierson Burch predeceased him in 2018 as well as his sister-in-law Nancy Millington Pierson in 2010. 

He is survived by his loving Wife; Mary Alice Pierson, a son Douglas Joseph Pierson Jr., three of his siblings; Thomas L. Pierson, Shirley Pierson Coon [Ralph], Donald W. Pierson [Marylou Mosher] and his brother-in-law Lloyd Burch, plus many nieces and nephews.

USMC MSgt. Douglas J. Pierson Sr. will be interred in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery on July 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Honors.  The service is open to all who knew Doug.
