Obituary of Lorraine Therese Clair

GLENS FALLS: Lorraine T. (Ruppert) Clair, 86, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Home of the Good Shepard, South Glens Falls, NY.

Lorraine was born on February 4, 1938 in New York, NY to the late William and Loretta (Miller) Ruppert.

Lorraine married Michael B. Clair on April 12, 1958, in Dumont, NJ.   They made their home in Norwood, NJ. She was a wife and mother.  She worked part-time as a school crossing guard. The family enjoyed many great camping vacations.

In 1977 Lorraine and Michael relocated their family to Warrensburg, New York. She worked at Albany Savings Bank as a customer service representative.  When they relocated in 1980 to Dover Plains, NY she continued working at Albany Savings Bank in Beacon, which later became Citizens Bank.

When Mike and Lorraine retired, they moved back up to Queensbury, NY.   Lorraine worked at St. Andrew’s Ace Hardware for almost 20 years.  She and Mike enjoyed spending time with their families and camping.  She enjoyed working in her yard.

 Lorraine cherished her time spent with her children, grandchildren and extended family.

Besides her parents predeceasing Lorraine is her beloved husband Michael Clair and sister Loretta Sherman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Barbara Griffin, Susan (Tom) Scriver-Mitchell, Michael (Denise) Clair, Peter (Christine) Clair and Paul Clair; Grandchildren: Lindsay, Ryan, Allie, Cara, Chrissy, Lauren, Allyssa, Michael, Shayn, Ronnie and Jake; 12 great children and several nieces and nephews.

The family would also like to express their gratitude for the loving and supportive care she received from Home of the Good Shepard and Community Hospice.

The family requests that contributions be made to the CR Wood Center, 100 Park Street, Glens Falls, NY  12801 in her memory.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
