Obituary of Jean C. Remington
WARRENSBURG: Jean C. Remington (Schloss), 78 years old, passed away after a long illness at the Warren Center in Queensbury, NY on April 21, 2024.
Jean made her entrance into the world on January 26, 1946, in the Bronx, NY, born to the late William and Dorothy (Palmer) Schloss. Growing up in Long Island, she was a devoted Yankee fan. Later, she and her family relocated to Lake George during her high school years, where she graduated from Lake George High School. Jean went straight to work at State Bank in Warrensburg before transitioning to C.R. Bard. Opting for early retirement, she chose to focus on being a homemaker. In her later years, Jean wholeheartedly devoted herself to her two grandsons and family.
Jean found immense pleasure in gardening, birdwatching, and embracing the beauty of nature. However, her most cherished moments were spent lounging on the front porch, accompanied by the faithful Sammy, basking in the warmth of the sunshine.
Meeting Jean in heaven is her sister Barbara Hill, Roger Remington, and long-time companion Bruce Ellsworth.
Left to cherish Jean’s memory is her son Scott (Carly) Remington and beloved grandsons Caleb and Cameron; sisters Dorothy Matern and Carol (Peter) Black; brothers Jack Schloss and companion Marion, Bill Schloss and companion Judy; brother-in-law Tim Hill Sr. and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
