Obituary of Edward D. Braley Jr.
WARRENSBURG: Edward D. Braley Jr. of Warrensburg NY, 76 years old, passed away on April 11, 2024 with his wife by his side.
Born in Ticonderoga NY on September 3, 1947 to the late Edward and Verna (Haskell) Braley. Ed joined and proudly served in the United State Army from 1963 until 1966. He served one year in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne unit, Screaming Eagles.
When Ed returned home, he finished his education and started his career as a truck driver. He had over a million miles without and accident. He was a lifetime member of Haskell Brothers VFW Post in Warrensburg. A 30-year member of the American Legion, and an avid NASCAR and race car fan. He also enjoyed his daily lotto and visits to the casinos. Ed was a proud Philadelphia Eagles fan. Ed always stepped up to help someone else without ever being asked. He had a heart of gold. What he enjoyed most was getting together with family and friends. He will be missed by all. Remember to “Have a Sparkling Day”!
Besides his parents, Ed is predeceased by his daughter Tina Louise Schrimsher; granddaughter Courtney Mae Swinton; brother William John Braley; niece Summer Lee Braley and ex wives Nancy Braley, Sandy Briger Braley and Rose Baker Braley.
Ed is survived by his wife, Georgi Rivers of three years; son Edward (Stacy) Braley III; youngest daughter Heather Braley and her fiancé Michael Harrington; stepdaughters Evie Baker and Julia (Steve) Shill; stepson Richard (Samantha) Webster; sisters Julia (Joe) Dolan, Rita (Fred) Jansen, Cathy (Jerry) Griesemer; brothers Clifford (Sandy) Braley and Kevin (Nancy) Braley; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s memory can be made to: Haskell Brothers VFW, Main Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
Friends may call on Ed’s family from Noon – 2pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Alexander Funeral Home, Warrensburg, NY. A memorial service will be held at 2pm.
Burial will follow at Warrensburg Cemetery, Hudson Street, Warrensburg.
A Celebration of Life will be held following services at the Warrensburg VFW.
