Obituary of Sharon Lee Tennyson

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

NORTH CREEK: Sharon L (Baker) Tennyson, 75, of North Creek, NY, passed away after a short illness on December 14, 2023 at Glens Falls Hospital.

Sharon came into this world on June 14, 1948, gracing her home with her presence and becoming the beloved child of the late Clifford and Purlina (Frasier) Baker.  Her educational journey took her through Pottersville and North Warren schools.  Following school, Sharon embarked on a new chapter of life when she exchanged vows with Tom Tennyson on July 22, 1966, at Gore Church, making the beginning of a joyous union that endured for 57 years.

Sharon undertook the role of a wife and homemaker, a position often overlooked yet vital in its significance.  Her dedication to creating a warm and nurturing home made her job one of the toughest and most underappreciated.  Also, after the untimely passing of her parents, she assumed the responsibility of raising her younger brother Michael, who was just 12 years old at the time. With unwavering dedication and love, she provided him with the guidance and support needed during his formative years.

During a hard-earned break, Sharon was a vivacious reader and crossword puzzles became a delightful challenge.  Additionally, she devoted time to crocheting and sewing.  Her creations, crafted with love and precision, stand as enduring testaments to her talent and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of beauty for her cherished family.

Sharon leaves behind her husband Tom Tennyson; daughters Madeline (John P.) Donohue of Bakers Mills and Lucy (Christopher McLaren) Tennyson of Hadley; son Alfred (Jamie Altman) Tennyson; brothers Clifford (Denise Moffitt) Baker of Wevertown and Michael (Rose) Baker of Wevertown, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
