Obituary of Frances Wallace

Frances Wallace, 91, of James Street, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born January 3, 1926 and raised in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mable (Bunker) Gordon.
In early years, Fran modeled and was a keyboard operator. During WWII she was a log piker on the Schroon River.
She married Donald “Bud” Wallace on September 1, 1945 in Fairhaven, VT. The couple spent 68 years together, and did a lot of travelling.
Fran was a loving mother and friend who loved to paint, play cards, and read.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Bud Wallace, and sisters, Ruth Carpenter and Rose Derseweh.
She is survived by her children; Laurie Collier of Warrensburg, and Donald Wallace, Jr. of Holly Hill, FL; four grandchildren, Daniel J. Collier and his wife, Dodie, of Trenton, GA, Melanie J. Albright and her husband, Kenny, of Stillwater, Donald E. “Buddy” Wallace, III, and Darryl Wallace and his wife, Stacy, all of Bell, FL; six great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind special nieces and nephews, Cookie, Bunny, Debbie, Bernie, Jeffery, and Warren, and several great-grandchildren, cousins, and her beloved pets, Bijou, Beaujou, and Shelby.
Friends may call on Fran’s family from 12 to 2 pm, Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A Life Tribute will conclude the visitation at 2 pm, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to SPCA of Upstate NY, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
Fran’s family would like to thank Carol Hoover, Shelbie Hayes, and Robin Dunkley for the loving care she received, their dedication enabled her to remain in her own home.
