Obituary of Jeffrey E. Planty

GLENS FALLS: Jeffrey E. Planty, 68, of Glens Falls, NY passed away unexpectedly September 7, 20023, at his residence.

Jeff was born on September 22, 1954 in Glens Falls, NY to the late Donald and Leona Planty.

Jeff grew up in North Creek, NY and moved to Glens Falls when he began his restaurant career. Jeff began at the Montcalm Restaurant, where he worked in the kitchen. When the Montcalm Restaurant closed, he transitioned to Talk of the Town, where he has been employed as a dishwasher for the past 20 years, until his retirement. Outside of work, Jeff found great joy in indulging his passion for Elvis’s music and movies, as well as building a collection of Elvis memorabilia. 

Besides his parents, Jeff is preceded in death by his sister’s Thelma Planty, Christine Swinton and Jane Gifford.

Surviving Jeff is his sister Shirley Sherman of Lake Luzerne; brother’s Henry Planty of Glens Falls and Stanley Planty of Greenwich; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10am in Union Cemetery, Main St., North Creek, NY.
