Kenneth D. Brown, 56, of Ridge Street, passed away, Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a heart attack at his home.
Born September 21, 1953 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Ruth (Benware) Brown of South Glens Falls and the late Erwin E. Brown.
Ken spent his childhood in Hudson Falls and graduated from Hudson Falls High School.
He was a self taught artist and craftsman, who did exceptional work. He worked for 12 years at ASI, where he created many pieces that ended up in Universal Studios and Disney World. Most recently he worked for Willis Construction in Glens Falls specializing in custom trim and cabinetry.
Besides his father, his nephew, Forrest Cranker also predeceases him.
Besides his mother, Ruth Brown of South Glens Falls, Ken leaves behind, his longtime companion, Pauline Buckler and her son, Bryan Buckler and his wife, Mya of Warrensburg; his daughter, Bailey Brown of Warrensburg; his children from previous marriage, Joshua Brown and his wife, Penny of Scotland, Hattie Gabriel and her daughter, Katherine of NJ, and Kendra Brown of Brooklyn; his brother, George Brown of Fort Edward and his children, Ashley, Isaac and Gabriel; his sister, Joy Cranker and her husband, Jim and their children, Schuyler and Summer of Saranac Lake, Heidi Beaudoin and her husband, Joe and their son, Tyler of South Glens Falls.
Friends may call on Ken’s family from 4-6 pm Monday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial celebration will follow the visitation at 6 pm, Monday at the funeral home with his close family and friends sharing fond memories.
Family and friends will continue to celebrate his life at the meeting hall of the Masonic Lodge on Main St. Warrensburg immediately following the memorial.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to his daughter, Bailey Brown’s college fund, c/o of any TD Bank location.
