Obituary of Shelly Linn Thompson

Please share a memory of Shelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Murphy, NC:

Shelly Linn Thompson, 54, of Murphy, NC, passed away on August 17, 2022.  She was born January 27, 1968 in Sioux City, IA, the daughter of Albert and Viviane Baker.

Shelly was a licensed massage therapist and a licensedNuclear Med Technician.  However, her most important job in life was being a housewife and mother to her two beautiful daughters.

Shelly was the ultimate planner of events, especially weekend gatherings with her family.  She always made sure that there was plenty of food and loved trying new recipes, making sure they were “spot on”. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she always decorated her house to the nines, it was always picture perfect. Her smile and laughter is probably the most repeated memory from her family and friends.  They all say that her laugh could be heard from across the room and was extremely contagious.  She shined her light brightly on others.

Shelly is predeceased by her maternal and paternal grandparents as well as her father, Albert Baker.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Viviane Baker and Earl Butler, of Thurman, NY, her sister, Barbara Baker (Laurie O’Hern), of Thurman, NY, her husband, Dave Thompson, of Murphy, NC, her daughters, Danna Thompson (Nick Lowe) of Mooresville, NC, and Brice Alexander and her husband Ross Alexander of Huntersville, NC, her aunt and uncle, Kathy and David Robley of Early, IA, and several cousins and their children.

Shelly will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who had the opportunity to know her. Forever in our Hearts, until we meet agin.
