Dutch and family — it is with great sadness that Cathy and I read of Bernie’s passing. Bernie and I were colleagues in my first years of teaching in Glens Falls, and you and I, of course, knew each other since our years as students at Plattsburgh. What I remember most about him was his wonderful sense of humor, and that smile that lit up his face time and again. Also, he was genuinely a nice human being, and my memories of him will always be pleasant ones. Take care, Nancy, and be well.
