Obituary of Anice M. Raymond

Fort Ann: Anice M. Morehouse-Raymond, 68, formerly of North Creek, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Glens Falls Hospital after a long respiratory illness. Born April 6, 1943 in Brant Lake, she was the daughter of the late James and Emma (Raymond) Morehouse. Affectionately known as “Pee-Wee”, she was a life long resident of the area, who loved living in the Adirondack Mountains. Anice enjoyed playing cards, “running the roads”, spending time with family, researching her family’s lineage, and reading bible scriptures with Pastor Ron Burdett. She took great pride in her grandchildren, often referring to them as her “pride and joy”. She will be deeply missed and remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Other than her parents, Anice was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Claude J. Raymond; two brothers; three sisters; a son, Barry G. Raymond; and her great-grandson, Brandon J. Green. She is survived by her daughter, Emma Raymond-Martin of TN; four grandchildren, Sue Green of North Creek, Rusty Millington, Jr. of FL, Donald Raymond of Fort Edward, and Barry Raymond, Jr. of Queensbury; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Madison Green of North Creek; five sisters, Debbie Turnbull of Fort Ann, Joan Richards of Glens Falls, Irene Baker of Long Eddy, Betty Lou Garusso of Rome, and Beverly Abrahams of AK. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Anice’s life will take place at 6:00 pm, September 17, 2011 at the Warrensburg First Baptist Church, 3850 Main St., Warrensburg, with Pastor Ron Burdett officiating. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Anice’s name to the North Country Ministry, P.O.
