Obituary of Virginia J. Warnecke

Olmstedville: Virginia J. “Ginny” Warnecke, 80 of Trout Brook Road, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 7, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital. Born May 12, 1929 in Saugerties, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Victoria (Stoly) Mower. Following her high school graduation, she worked at Bell Telephone Co. before marrying Robert D. Warnecke on May 27, 1956. The couple resided and raised their family in Saugerties and enjoyed their time spent at the family camp on Trout Brook Rd. in Olmstedville. Upon completing their retirement home next to their camp, they become permanent residence in 1992. Her favorite pastimes included caring for her beloved dogs, Maggie, Kie, Dallas and Ruger. She also enjoyed sewing and knitting. Besides her parents, her sister, Jean Sinnot and brother, Robert Mower have also predeceased her. She leaves behind her husband, Robert of 54 years; her son, Col. Mark Warnecke of Saugerties; her daughter, Tina Rinaldo and her husband, John of Castleton, VT; her grandchildren, Lucas, Heidi, Alicia, Dean and Shanna; and her son, Mark’s companion, Meg Fairbairn; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Ginny’s family from 1-3 pm Monday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 3 pm Monday at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan of St. Cecilia’s RC Church in Warrensburg officiating.
