Bolton Landing: Thomas F. Schweickert, of Stewart Ave., passed away, Monday, August 17, 2009 surrounded by his loving family after enduring a challenging illness. He was the son of the late John F. and Dorothy (Lenahan) Schweickert. He lived in Breezy Point, NY, with his brothers John and Donald prior to his marriage and relocation to Bolton Landing. Thomas was the best dad anyone could ever have. It was not uncommon for Thomas to drive from work in Glens Falls to far reaching areas such as Indian Lake and Chazy to watch his son, Luke and his daughter, Nicole play High School sports. In 1976, he and his wife, Doris escaped to beautiful Bolton Landing. He spent many hours fishing, picnicking, and enjoying Lake George with his family. No two people enjoyed the tranquility of Lake George more than Thomas and his wife Doris. Surviving members include his loving wife Doris Schweickert, his daughter Nicole Schweickert, son-in- law, Josh Baker, son Luke Schweickert and his beautiful wife Denise Jorgensen, Magic the chow, and Sam the lab and his brother, John Schweickert his wife, Pat Schweickert, niece, Barbara Ann , Michael and David, and their respective spouses. Nephew Donald Schweickert and niece Jennifer Schweickert, sister in law, Marion Vargas Vila and her husband, John. His cousin Francis Lenahan and his wife, Rose. As well as a long lost cousin who has provided much support to Thomas in the last year, Rose Betkie from Long Island. Thomas was extremely proud of his wife Doris who is a Nurse Practitioner with G.I. Associates of Glens Falls. He called Doris and his daughter his angels for helping him get through his tough times. He is very proud of his daughter Nicole’s tremendous work ethic and her successes as a self-employed individual. Thomas took great pride while watching his son coach the Bolton Central School Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team. He proudly served his country overseas during the Vietnam War. He worked for the town of Queensbury for 29 years. He loved all of his co-workers and enjoyed exchanging stories participating in picnics and barbecues with them. A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted 12 pm Friday, Aug. 21 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
