Obituary of Frank B. Cook

Warrensburg: Frank B. Cook, 101, of Fourth Avenue, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 14, 2009 at his home with his beloved daughter by his side. Born in Lambertville, N.J. on June 9, 1908, he was the son of the late Lewis and Nora (Slack) Cook. He married Gertrude V. Gafgen on January 30, 1934. The couple resided in Trenton where Frank worked for 29 years as a projectionist for RKO Theater’s, including, the Trent, the Bijou, and the Lincoln before his retirement in 1973. Frank was a longtime member of the Local #359 IATSE. Following his retirement, the couple moved to Warrensburg in 1973. Besides spending time with his family, Frank enjoyed playing cards and watching old movies. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Gertrude Cook; two sisters, Mabel Ryan, and Nora Mae Hutchinson; five brothers, Lewis, William, Paul, Harry and George Cook; and son in law, Clarence “Bud” Taylor of Warrensburg. Frank is survived by his daughter, Frances Taylor of Warrensburg; two grandchildren, Sharon Reynolds and her husband, Todd and Clarence E. Taylor Jr. and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Cedric, Chelsea and Kassidy; two great great grandchildren, Dylan and Julia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Frank’s family from 6-7pm, Tuesday, December 22 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Lucy Harris, Pastor of the Warrensburg First Presbyterian Church officiating.
