Obituary of Thelma Stone

Warrensburg: Thelma Stone, 95, formerly of Hudson Street Extension, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Indian River Nursing Home in Granville. Born June 2, 1912 in Stony Creek, she was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Perkins) Dingman. Thelma was a lifelong resident of the area and married Carl Stone on October 7, 1931. The couple owned and operated Stoney’s Snack Bar on Rt. 9 in Warrensburg for over 15 years. Thelma enjoyed spending time with her beloved family, knitting, crocheting, gardening and treating her family to homemade pies. Besides her husband, Carl, who passed away on April 8, 1994 after 62 years of marriage, her daughter, Marilyn Stone; granddaughter, Cheryl Russell; brothers, Eldon, Foster, Lloyd, Hubert and Wm. Earle Dingman; and sisters, Erma Clark, Mary Stone and Ethel Frye have all predeceased her. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Robinson and her husband, Douglas of Warrensburg, Frances Ross and her husband, Lewis of Warrensburg; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gravesides services will be conducted 1 pm Tuesday at the Warrensburg Cemetery. There are no calling hours scheduled. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Warrensburg EMS or to a charity of ones choice.
