Obituary of J. Norman Frazier

Minerva: Joseph “Norman” Frazier, 74, passed away, Thursday, July 31, 2008 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 13, 1933, in Stelton, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas Haywood and Ruth (Snyder) Frazier. He was a retired professional firefighter with the Greenville Fire Department in Ohio. He retired in 1976 after twenty years of service. He was also employed at Gore Mountain Ski Center and Camp Baco for twenty years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed many activities in the great outdoors including snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his second wife, Verma (LaPrairie) Frazier; three brothers: Bob, Jim, and Walter Frazier. Survivors include his wife, Carol (Rock) Frazier; sister, Dorthea Kolstrich; stepchildren: Shirley Hughes and her husband, Dave; Helen Wright and her husband, Jerry of Greenville, OH; Jim Cohee and his wife, Madonna of Russia, OH; Mary Grenier and her husband, Wayne of Albuquerque, NM; Roger Pratt and his wife, Wanda of TN; Judy Dutcher and her husband, Eugene of Pottersville; Larry Pratt and his wife, Diane of Minerva; Danny Pratt and his wife, Mary of Minerva; Charlene Gibb and her husband, Jim of Chestertown; Anson Pratt and his wife, Christine of Olmstedville; Paula Taylor and her husband, Pete of Hewitt Lake, Minerva; Ronnie Pratt and his wife, Michelle of Minerva; along with many step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 pm, Sunday, August 3, at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Route 28, North River. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 5 pm, Sunday with Steve Smith, Hospice Chaplain officiating. Interment services will be held at 10 am Monday, at the Minerva Baptist Cemetery.
