Obituary of Vicki Perkins

North Creek: Victoria Anne “Vicki” Perkins, 51, of State Rt. 28N, passed away, Sunday, September 2, 2007 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born August 3, 1956 in Alexandria, VA, she was the daughter of Elisabeth (Pattee) Farnell of North Creek and the late Jack Farnell. Vicki was raised and educated in Atlanta, GA. She went on to pursue equestrian studies in West Virginia. While visiting her sister, Florence Bolton, in New York, she skied at Gore Mt. Ski Center. Vicki decided to settle in North Creek, where she married and then gave birth to their beloved daughter, Laura in 1980. Vicki’s career was in sales, with over 20 years at Gore Mt. Ski Center and most recently with Creative Stage Lighting in North Creek. She was also often seen lending a helping hand at the Hudson River Trading Co. in North Creek. Her life’s work was sales. Her life’s love was family, friends, quarter horses and English bull dogs. She was known for her good humor, and caring, outgoing nature. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Besides her father, her father in law, Floyd Perkins also predeceased her. Survivors besides her mother, include her daughter, Laura Perkins of Pittsfield, MA; her former husband, Terry Perkins of Chestertown; her sister, Florence Bolton and husband, Peter of Averill Park; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Vicki’s family from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc, 4479 State Rt. 28, North River. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
