Obituary of Josephine T. Lacz

Warrensburg: Josephine “Jo” T. Lacz, 83, formerly of King Street and most recently of the Countryside Adult Home passed away, Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born May 25, 1927 in West Rutland, VT, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Mary (Kupiec) Lacz. Jo graduated from W. Rutland High School. She later moved to the Glens Falls area thoroughly enjoying her career in the hospitality field with various resorts in the area. Besides working, her favorite pastimes included spending time with her family. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s RC Church in Warrensburg. In addition to her parents, her sister, Val Sienkiewicz of Proctor, VT also predeceased her. Survivors include her brother, John Lacz and his wife, Gen of N. Scituate, RI; her aunt Velma Hyjek of W. Rutland, VT; her nieces and nephews, Mary Sherwin of Rutland, VT, Irene Sienkiewicz of Proctor, VT, Michael Sienkiewicz and his wife, Phyllis of Center Rutland, VT, Annie Manney and her husband, Wally of Rutland, VT, John Sienkiewicz and his wife, Lois Austin of Pittsford, VT, Henry Sienkiewicz and his wife, Linda of Fair Haven, VT, David Lacz and his wife, Elaine of Honeoye, NY Nancy Gaiewski and her husband, Dave of N. Scituate, RI, 13 great nieces and nephews; as well as her special care givers and dear friends, Sister Linda Hogan and Didi Bolton and Diane Newell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am Friday, October 29, 2010 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in West Rutland, VT. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. There are no calling hours scheduled. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the St. Cecilia’s RC Church, building fund, Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885 or to St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 23 Barnes St., West Rutland, VT 05777 in Jo’s memory.
