Warrensburg/ Saratoga Springs Frank Cocozza, 90, formerly of Warrensburg and currently residing on Moore Ave, Saratoga Springs, passed away, Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the Saratoga Hospital. Born November 27, 1918 in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late Gio and Rosa (Salvatore) Cocozza. Frank met his bride-to-be, Nan Gall, in Glasgow and the couple wed on Dec. 27, 1946. Frank was a yacht builder by trade before serving with the Cameron Highland of the Scottish Brigade in the British Army during World War II. The couple immigrated to the United States 1952 and settled in Nanuet. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Warrensburg and raised their son Tom in the North Country. Frank worked with his brothers, operating Scotty’s Motel on Lake George before retiring in 1982. Frank was passionate about harness racing and frequented the track in Saratoga. He owned several trotter horses throughout his life. He also enjoyed model building and landscape painting. His five sisters, Lenore, Mary, Lena, Julie and Nancy and his brothers Tom, Andy, Joe and John have all predeceased him. Frank leaves behind his beloved wife of 62 years, Nan Cocozza and his son Thomas Cocozza both of Saratoga Springs. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Frank’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral services to celebrate Frank’s life will be conducted at 6:30 pm, during the visitation at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan of Saint Cecelia’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Spring internment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Lake George. In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of donations to Hospice of Saratoga, Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
