Obituary of Rosalie M. Broe-Wood

Rosalie M. Broe-Wood, 75, of Mud Street, passed away, Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born August 4, 1932 in Richford, VT, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Pearl (Breault) Broe.
She met and married Gilbert R. Wood, Sr. and the couple have been together for more than 50 years.
Besides being an exceptional wife, and mother, Rosalie also found time to work as a nurse’s aid, also at the former Warrensburg Shirt Factory, the Outlet Barn and at Hoolihan’s Restaurant for 11 years.
She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Warrensburg and her favorite pastimes included quilting, crafts, and reading romance novels.
In addition to her parents, her son, Michael passed away in 1977. Four brothers and three sisters have also predeceased her.
Rosalie leaves behind, her beloved husband, Gilbert Wood Sr. of Thurman; her eight children, Gilbert Wood Jr. of Thurman, Judy O’Neill and her companion, Jack Hall of Warrensburg, Rosalie Arnold and her husband, Barry Bentley of Warrensburg, Ann Wood and her companion, Bob Alger of Thurman, Diane Wood and her companion, Bob Ross of Warrensburg, Janet Wood of Thurman, Patrick Wood of Thurman, Laurel Martin and her husband, Bill of Queenbsury; 22 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Winchell of Queensbury; her brothers, Butch, Brad, Mitchell, and Bruce all of the Glens Falls area, Doug and Charles both of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Rosalie’s family from 12-2 pm Tuesday, May 27 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Butler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman.
