Obituary of John J. Gahan

North Creek: John J. Gahan, Jr., 44, passed away Sunday, April 13, after being stricken at his home on Peaceful Valley Ridge Road. Born July 31, 1963 in Brooklyn, he was the son of John and Joan (Abrahamson) Gahan of Staten Island. John attended the Roy H. Mann High School in Brooklyn. He married Georgia Padula on November 6, 1988. The couple moved to the north-country in 1993, where he worked as a carpet installer for Floor Designs Unlimited in Albany. John enjoyed numerous hobbies including firearms, hunting, fishing, and collecting comic books and baseball cards. John is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Gahan of North Creek; three children: Kristina, John Jr., and Anna Gahan; beloved sisters: Debbie Altman of Florida; Darlene Gahan of Staten Island; one brother: Joseph Gahan of St. Louis, MO; along with many nieces and nephews. He was also a best friend to many including: Scott and Emma Phillips of North Creek; and Eddie Denning of Staten Island. He will be greatly missed by his family and will always be in their hearts and thoughts. May he rest in peace now that he is sleeping with the angels. Friends may call on John’s family from 5 to 7 pm Thursday evening, April 17, at the Alexander Funeral Home, State Route 28, North River. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in care of Scott Phillips, PO Box 125, North River, NY 12856 for a fund to be entrusted to the care and wellbeing of John’s young children.
