Elizabeth “Betsy” Lapell, 81, of Ski Bowl Road, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Elderwood at North Creek following a brief illness.
Born June 29, 1937 in Johnsburg, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lillian (Hitchcock) Andrus.
She married John Lapell on June 12, 1959 and the couple enjoyed 59 years together until his recent passing on December 29, 2018.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and a long time member of the Johnsburg United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, William Lapell.
She is survived by her close friend and caregiver, Lisa Lafountain of North Creek; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Betsy’s request, there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Johnsburg EMS or the Johnsburg Volunteer Fire Company.
