When I think of Grant Wright, one word comes to mind immediately: raconteur. As in storyteller, teller of tales, spinner of yarns. Grant was an intelligent man with a keen, curious mind and a love for sharing anecdotes, from the historical to the (at least somewhat) fantastical with equal enthusiasm. I first met him when I was 14 or 15 by virtue of my now 45-years-long friendship with his son Neil, and had many after dinner conversations with him both at the table and in the living room of the house on Burgoyne Avenue. He was always kind and interested in engaging with me, both of which I appreciated very much. In subsequent years I spent time with him now and then in Neil's homes in Houston and he was always friendly and ready to to have an enthusiastic conversation about local history or pretty much anything. He was a completely unique individual in every sense and just as completely unforgettable. Condolences and best wishes to all who knew and loved him. Rick Belden Austin, TX

Sincerely, my deepest condolences during this time of sadness and grief. May the powerful and encouraging words written in the Bible sooth the pain of your heart having loss your dear one. Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart." You have the assurance from God that you will see your loved one again. "There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.”- Acts 24:15 What a wonderful time that will be!
