Obituary of Roberta I. Wilde

Roberta I. “Bert” Wilde, 87, of River Road, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Warren Center in Queensbury.
Born April 18, 1930 in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Annice (Beadnell) Moulton.
Roberta married Douglas J. Wilde on October 14, 1948.
Bert was a country girl through and through, who loved feeding and watching the wild life in her backyard, and going for rides through the Adirondacks. She was an avid bowler in her day and acquired several trophies through the years.
She worked at Ray’s Liquor Store, Grand Union, the Warrensburg Shirt Factory, and Bills Restaurant, where she also a member of the Bills Crowd, and enjoyed good conversation and countless laughs.
In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband of 56 years, Doug, who passed away March 13, 2004, she is predeceased by a son, John Wilde, daughter-in-law, Jane Wilde, and son-in-law, Joseph Smarro.
She is survived by her children, Douglas “Bud” Wilde, Valerie (Wilde) Smarro, Jim Wilde; son-in-law, Chuck Bederian; grandchildren, John (Andrea) Bederian, Kate Bederian, Joshua (Julie) Wilde, Jacob (Kristen) Wilde; great-grandchildren, Natalie Bederian, Sam Wilde, and little John Wilde; a sister, Joyce (Moulton) Harvey; brother, Henry Moulton. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her beloved cat, Miss Kitty, who she took in when she appeared on her doorstep.
Friends may call on Bert’s family from noon to 2 pm, Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg, NY 12885.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Reynolds Cemetery.
Bert’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Warren Center, formerly Westmount, for their professional care of “Gram” and compassion during her stay.
